THE ELTEC SCADA v2
The ELTEC SCADA v2 is a new milestone in the development of our own software package for
the remote supervision and control (DNU) of customer sites,
production sources and other elements of
district heating systems. The Eltec SCADA 2.0 software package will provide you with complete control over
district heating systems, as well as making them easy to manage.
SCADA stands for “Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition” and it is a software interface between the supervised process and the operator – the process supervisor. It allows operators
remote supervision and control (DNU) of processes. We also often see the
CNS abbreviation which stands for “Centralni Nadzorni Sistem” (“Central Supervision System”).

When developing the Eltec SCADA 2.0 software package, we at El-tec Mulej Bled have relied especially on
many years of experience in the field of district heating and cooperation with distributors of thermal energy. We followed the following three main guidelines during development:
- Adaptability to the customers’ desires and needs.
- Practicability is guaranteed with the use of standard function blocks, defined in cooperation with the distributors of thermal energy.
- Simplicity guarantees a quick and efficient introduction of the software package into operative use.
Advantages for the client:
- Alarms: make effective action possible even before the users detect the problem; the system immediately warns of any potential problems and errors in the system.
- Data archiving: the system periodically archives the selected parameters of the system operation. These can be represented visually in multiple ways and this allows us to review any chosen period of operational of the district heating system. Consequently, the system facilitates communication with the customers and decreases the number of reclamations and customer complaints while the archived data is an excellent starting point for the analysis of system operation and how to gain any possible savings Eltec TERMIS
- Online action execution: the system allows you to execute actions online for all supervised customer sites and production sources from one supervision centre.
- Automatic logging of counters: remote logging of parameters makes monthly visits to customer sites unnecessary as the counters are logged automatically by the system at a set day and hour.
The connectivity of the
ELTEC TERMIS system gives additional value to the remote supervision and control system. In addition to a higher quality supply for the customers and a lower cost of heat plant management, there is also the possibility of the economical management of heat production and distribution.

- Built on the Microsoft .NET platform (Windows 2000/2003 Server, Windows XP and Windows Vista)
- Support for the LonWorks and ModBus protocols
- It is possible to connect any number of controllers and other LonWorks devices
- Rapid switching between multiple LonWorks systems
- Support for multiple types of simultaneous or individual accessing
- It is possible to remotely access the supervision computer
- Advanced software and hardware alarms, including SMS support
- Local archiving according to the SQL standard
- The review of trends, histograms and archives for the chosen periods
- It is possible to relay data to all ODBC compatible databases
- It is possible to export archives into CSV (Excel) format
- A development environment where the user can create visual representations
- Supports the running of independent LON plug-ins
- The time scheduled running of procedures
- Supports GIF, BMP and JPG images
- The advanced graphical interface allows the designing of visual representations per the user’s wishes
- It is possible to use one standard visual representation for multiple systems
- It can be quickly translated into any language (already translated into Slovenian, Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian)
- The reading of counters, consumption calculation and exporting of data into CSV (Excel) files
